Sven Lindblad, founder and CEO of Lindblad Expeditions, took aim at other expedition cruise lines for pricing practices on Lindblad’s first quarter earnings call on Tuesday. “As 2023 evolved through the summer and fall, we started seeing more and more dramatic price actions, sometimes even two-for-one offerings for prime seasons in places like Antarctica,” Lindblad said. “Clearly, the relationship of inventory and demand is out of balance for some of our peers as well as some desperation coming out of Covid,” he continued. “Rather than joining the fray, given the potential long-term ramifications to the value proposition we deliver, we…
“Our Yacht Club offering gave us an understanding of our passengers wanting more, and wanting a luxury experience,” said Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman of the cruise division of MSC Group. “The Yacht Club is able to offer privacy and luxury in a world of choice, having a larger ship downstairs.” It was then a natural progression from MSC’s ship-within-a-ship concept on its megaships to enter the luxury market with Explora Journeys, which grows to two 922-guest ships this year and will have six by 2028. With smaller luxury ships, Vago said it presents an opportunity to go off the beaten…

To understand the new smart watched and other pro devices of recent focus, we should look to Silicon Valley and the quantified movement of the latest generation. Apple’s Watch records exercise, tracks our moves throughout the day, assesses the amount of time we are stood up and reminds us to get up and move around if we have been sat for too long – let’s not forget Tim Cook’s “sitting is the new factor” line. Diana saves Steve Trevor who has crashed on Themyscira. He warns her of the great war, World War I, raging across the globe. Wonder Woman…
